1-4 people (600 lb limit) per tour

This tour accommodates up to 3 adults and 1 small child or 2 adults and 2 small children per tour. Overall weight of the entire party becomes the determining factor.

As you get out onto the trails, you have the opportunity to drive, ride and control a larger team. This tour is completely dog powered and whenever the sleds are moving everyone is on board this peaceful, serene tour with your guide. This is a great way to dogsled, but have the guide with you to help control the dog team. Plus, you get to play with more dogs! (See photo above for details).

Kennel Tours

If you would like to get a taste of what happens at a large dog sledding facility, you are in luck!

Opening day to December 18th and January 10th to the end of the season, we will offer kennel tours by prior arrangement only. Meet our beautiful sled dogs! We are too busy to offer kennel tours around the peak holidays, and most of the dogs will already be out running tours anyhow. If you are already taking a tour, you will be able to tour the kennel after your tour and will have the opportunity to ask questions on your tour.

Description

During the 45 minute, narrated kennel tour, you will hear about the following and more!

- Our rescue and placement activities with active racing kennels
- Alaskan vs. Siberian Huskies
- Basic kennel set up
- Exercise & training regimes
- The sled dog diet
- Information about the tours we offer
- Hear stories about our tours and see the gear we use for our exciting winter tours.
- Alpine does not actively breed on site, but sometimes we have puppies we have taken in from other kennels. If puppies are on site and old enough for visitors, you will get to love on them too!

Reminders

- Kennel tours are available during the winter season (see date restrictions above) by reservation. Walk-ins are welcome and based on availability.
- Dress in layers including coats, hats, gloves, and eye protection.
- Remember, the dogs will be excited to see you and you are going to get lots of love from our dogs, so prepare to get alittle dirty while you are here.
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time in order to have time to check in, get geared up and ready to meet your guide for your tour.
- You are welcome to bring a camera and bottled water into our yard, but realize if you drop things, they become chew toys for the doggies!
- We have adult-sized bibs and boots available for you to use at no extra charge.
- There is a 24 hour cancellation policy specific to Kennel Tours.
